Throughout the year 2004, PTPN III had carried out a basic and comprehensive change efforts in order to attain of the established vision. These changes are proves of company's desire to grow sustainably. Some of the changes made throughout the year 2004 are :

The launching of the new logo of PTPN III
    On March 23rd, 2004, at Grand Melia Hotel, Jakarta, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III had launched a new logo. This logo was made as a symbol so that PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III will be ready to face changes and increasingly competitive business environtment.

Receiving ISO 9001 certification, 2000 version
    On March 23rd, 2004, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III had received an acknowledgement or recommendation from TUV Certification International Indonesia, affiliated with a German company, Rheinland Berlin Brandenburg for the implementation of Quality Management System ISO 9001, 2000 version and Environmental Management System ISO 14001.

The issuance of the 2nd bonds
    After the success of the 1st Bonds issued on July 2003, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III received another approval of 2nd Bonds Registration Approval on the year 2004 from the Director of Surabaya Stock Exchange no : JKT-145/LIST/BES/VII/2004 dated July 13th, 2004. The 2nd bonds were offered on July 2004 with nominal value Rp. 175 billion and reports via OTC-FIS (Over The Counter Fixed Income Service) start from July 14th, 2004. The company has appointed PT. Bank Niaga (Tbk) as the trustee.

Receiving the CEO BUMN Award
    Drs. H. Akmaludiin Hasibuan, the President Director of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III was chosen as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) BUMN in the Good Corporate Governance (GCG) category, he deserves to receive the CEO BUMN Award 2004. This prestigious award from Kantor Kementerian BUMN was given on the opening ceremony of Indonesia BUMN Expo 2004 at Jakarta Convention Center, on July 28th, 2004.
    This award was obtained after eliminating five other nominees out of 162 BUMN Chief Executives of Indonesia. The BUMN Minister mentioned that the Chief Executive of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III has the best achievement in implementing the good corporate governance for the company's developments.
    Other than this CEO Award, the CEO of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III also been nominated as CEO BUMN of The Year 2004 and Nominee of Turn Around Management category.

2004 ISE Exhibition in Beijing
    Dated from August 30th, 2004 to September 3rd, 2004, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III had participated in China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. Besides participated in solo exhibition, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III had also signed 4 MoU.
    Mrs. Rini M.S. Suwandi, Minister of Commerce and Industries, and Indonesian Ambassador for China, accompanied by China's Minister of Commerce and China's Ambassador for Indonesia were present to witness the MoU signing.
    The goods exhibited on that occasion are glassware, wood products, textiles, handucrafts, food and beverages, agricultural products, electronics, metals, automotives, components, building materials, home and office furnishing, chemical products and rubber products.
    The invitation and participation of PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III in that exhibition had given an important meaning as part of promotion to entering the China's market. This is very well connected to the various steps done by this company, one of them is marketing. Marketing strategy implemented by the company was known as Marketing Mix, or 4-P (product, price, promotion and placement) for short.

Signing MoU for Rubber Wood Factory
    PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III had signed an agreement with Yeo Aik Resources Berhad and PT Innex Tripanca Corporation on July 2004 to build a rubber wood factory with commited investment of 3,87 million US dollars. PT Tiga Mutiara Nusantara, the company resulted from this cooperation, will operate the furniture factory of rubber wood material with export market target. So the non productive rubber plants will still has a business advantage. PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III owned 30% shares with paid capital of 394.000 US dollars, Yeo Aik Resources owned 51% shares of 671.160 US dollars, and PT Innex Tripanca Corporation paid in 250.040 US dollars for 19% shares.

GCG Assesment
    In order to implement the good corporate governance, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III established cooperation with Sofyan Djalil & Partners to exercise the assessment. This was meant to see the GCG practices. Through the assessment, the company will obtain an overall recommendation so the GCG implementation action plan in the company will be more focused and systematic.

Employee and Customer Satisfication Survey
    Considering the importance of the company's three primary stakeholders, that are customers, employee and supplier, PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III was tried to obtain some input and indication upon the stakeholder satisfaction level.
together with an independent consultant, RSM-AAJ Associates, the survey was completed in December 2004. This survey adopted the American Customer Satifaction Index (ACSI) framework.

BUMN Award 2005
    On Friday, August 26th 2005, State Owned Enterprise Minister, Mr. Sugiharto awarded PTPN III’s CEO, Drs. H. Akmaluddin Hasibuan as the Runner Up Best CEO of The Year. In this event PTPN III also won awards in two categories : The Best State-Owned Company in Agro Industry and Runner-Up The Best State-Owned Company.
